Back From SXSW

I’m back from SXSW – it was phenomenal, and I got no sleep. Great music, great people, great films, and great interactivity all in all. Definitely inspiring to see people doing what they love. Makes me wish the days were longer. Look for photos soon.

It’s an interesting way to make music without having it totally hidden away from the world. Check it out. I’m going to continue to work on something with it and post it here.

New computers means more music

One new computer and one old one with a facelift. This is great because it means we can make more music for you. The songs we’ve been working on so far are coming along, and new ideas pop up all the time. Been playing guitar and fiddling with synths. Lots of synthy goodness. More news soon.

Looks like I get to upgrade my computer and wipe all my files. I guess it was worth moving all the music files to the external drive.

To make this music, we have to be in a really specific place. It comes in cycles, it seems. For me to get to that place, I have to have certain motivators that push me there. It can be some sort of visual art, or a movie, or specific music that gets me where I need to be. Mew is one of those bands that gets me there. You know how it makes you feel when you come across music that really means something and stays with you? This song did that for me. It’s such a lonely, perfect song. The video is just as strange as I like them, too. Check it out.
